Gateley Legal has announced a new free-to-attend Employment Law Update event in Leeds, designed to help West Yorkshire employers understand and prepare for the significant changes being introduced by the Employment Rights Act 2025.

The impact of the Employment Rights Act 2025 on businesses of all sizes will be considerable, whether it be the day one right for paternity and parental leave or removing the lower earnings limit and waiting period for Statutory Sick Pay.

Hosted by Paul Ball, employment partner and Abi Pawlett, employment solicitor, the event will provide local HR professionals and people leaders with practical advice on what impact the changes introduced by the Act may have on their business as well as a breakdown of the Government’s proposed implementation timetable, including key consultations.

Ahead of the event, Paul Ball said “It’s fair to say there’s no such thing as a quiet time in employment law, but with the changes in the Employment Rights Act now starting to be implemented, it’s a pivotal time for employers to ensure they’re aware of the ways that these will impact their businesses.

“The upcoming Employment Law Update event will cut through the complexities of the legislation, providing straightforward, understandable advice that attendees can take away and act upon.”

The Employment Law Update event will take place at Gateley Legal’s office on East Parade in Leeds city centre on 26 March 2026, from 9am to 1pm. Any HR professionals or people leaders who’d like to register their interest to attend can email [email protected].
