A series of workshops and training opportunities for small and medium sized businesses in the Humber region have become available a limited time.

All the expert courses are fully funded, meaning they are free to local businesses. However, they must be completed by June 30th, so firms are urged to sign up ASAP to reserve their space.

The Innovate Humber project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, under the Operation Programme for England Fund and aims to build the skills and resilience of small to medium sized businesses (1-250 employees) across the Humber region and is delivered by Hull Culture & Leisure Ltd in collaboration with Hull Libraries’ Business & IP Centre and Makerspace, they offer expert support to firms and their employees. The courses are also available for sole traders.

The Innovate Humber programme has been set up to build the skills and resilience for SMEs across the Humber region to develop new projects, processes and services. Using in house trainers, and expert consultants, when required. The programme of workshops and courses offers a huge range of invaluable support.

Available packages include innovation, designing and developing new products and processes, business planning, marketing & process, investment and finance, protecting your intellectual property and trading abroad.

The motto for Innovate Humber is ‘Dream Dare Do’, which encompasses Hull Libraries desire to build the skills and confidence of SMEs and entrepreneurs across the Humber region in their research, development and innovation journey.

Claire Nequest, project leader, said: “The project supports businesses in their research, development and innovation journey helping them to develop new products, processes and services. It does not have to be a completely new concept!

“The end goal is to help a business to acquire the skills and knowledge to commercialise their innovative ideas and build resilience.”

As well as workshop programmes, there is one-to-one innovation mentoring available, access to specialist business research resources, information on funding opportunities, networking events, the facilities, knowledge & expertise of Makerspace, as well as a dedicated Innovation & Research Centre and staff support.
