Staff at Tavassoli's Cafe + Grill captured a hilarious image of two men during a downpour of rain on Sunday, May 2.

"Not even Zeus's lightning would work on them."

Hospitality venues like restaurants and pubs were allowed to reopen on April 12 but only outdoors, meaning there is no protection from the elements.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, a staff member at the New Briggate bar and cafe said: "The business started very well from April 12 and the weather was glorious.

"Rainy days are challenging but the support from the people have been amazing

He added: "As soon as it started to rain, we offered them to swap their seats to under the parasols or the awnings but they refused and said they like their seat where they are.

"True Yorkshiremen."

Tavassoli's Cafe + Grill is hugely popular in Leeds for its bottomless gyros deal, which does not start again until May 17 when indoor hospitality is set to reopen.

Currently, outdoor seating is on a walk-in basis and the business does not take bookings.

However, even the weather hasn't stopped people heading out for some Greek gyros and drinks, with the cafe sharing photographs of its busy outdoor area on social media.

The staff said: "When the cocktails are good enough, no weather can hold us back.

"Northerners are hard. It's a fact. Here is the proof.

"Drinks and food so good, people are not even phased by the weather."
