Three more brands added to Leeds' Merrion Centre line-up as it prepares to reopen after lockdown

The Merrion Centre in Leeds has added another three new brands to its line up and they will be open for business as the national lockdown down comes to an end this week.

Specialising in Afro Caribbean hair and beauty, Teisha’s salon, owned by professional stylist Nateisha Dewdney who was born in Jamaica, will open its doors at 82 Merrion Centre before Christmas. She has taken a 1,000 sq ft unit in a prominent position fronting the busy Arena Way mall. Ms Dewdney specialises in weaves, custom made wigs, cornrows, dreadlocks, box braids, relaxers, crochet braids and moreand the salon will also offer creative styling for all other hair types.

In addition, joining the list of unique food and beverage operators within the heart of Leeds Arena Quarter is Salade, taking a 2,343 sq ft unit on Woodhouse Lane. The business, owned by Cbox Ltd (who have many years of operating franchises across Yorkshire), will offer bespoke salads using fresh and tasty produce suitable for all palates and will include extensive vegan and vegetarian menus. With a unique preparation concept using Mezzaluna blades, the team are confident that customers will most definitely be entertained whilst waiting for their lunch. Salade will open on December 7.

Durham Bed and Furniture Centre, which operates more than 20 branches across the UK, has secured 3,679 sq ft of space at its first Leeds City Centre venue as part of its strategic growth plans. The company retails a range of quality, UK-made affordable divan beds, bed frames, mattresses, headboards and pillows, as well as bedroom and dining room furniture.

It follows the recent announcement that the Merrion Centre is to welcome the city centre’s only official Leeds Rhinos store from Thursday.

Over £70m has been invested in recent years and investment is set to continue at the centre which has more than 100 shops, cafés and restaurants as well as offering a bowling alley, gym, nightclubs and 134 ibis styles bedroom hotel. the Centre welcomed over 11.2 million visitors in 2019.
