On Friday the project and venue space will re-open its outdoor terrace for drinks and bar snacks and that will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 11am and 7pm.
On Friday August 7 the galleries will be reopened with two exhibitions already planned. They are Taus Makhacheva: Hold Your Horses and Emii Alrai: The High Dam. It will then be open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm.
The Bar and Kitchen will also be open fully between Wednesday and Sunday from August 7,between 11am and 7pm.
Bosses at The Tetley said they had wanted to reopen sooner but were working on putting in safety measures and have made several amendments to the way the venue operates.
"Our commitment is, as it has been throughout this challenging period, to only move forward with reopening once we're confident we can do so safely. We know that for many our reopening can't come soon enough but we've chosen to wait until August to ensure we are able to introduce a range of essential safety measures which will make your visit both safe and enjoyable."
Some of the measures include visits having to be pre-booked, hand santising on entry to the building, changes to the layout of the building, no longer accepting cash but contactless payments instead, menus and bills being viewed and paid for on phones via a QR code, the number of employees in the building being reduced as well as reduced hours and shift patterns for staff so they can travel to work outside of peak times.
For those who can't or choose not to return to public venues just yet The Tetley says it remains committed to delivering work in other ways including virtual tours and the Tiny Tetley @ Home series.
