The annual guide, which has been published for the last 35 years, lists the best pubs across the country based on factors such as atmosphere, drinks available, and friendliness of staff. These 13 Leeds and Ilkley pubs have bagged a spot in this year's 5,000 strong list and have been praised for stocking local Leeds and Yorkshire beers, providing great food and their snug and inviting environments.
7. Windmill Inn

8. Fox and Hounds
The Good Pub Guide said: "Popular dining pub with good reasonably priced food from sandwiches to specials (should book Sun lunch), well kept ales such as Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors, friendly thriving atmosphere; children welcome, handy A1 stop, closed Mon."
9. Midnight Bell
The Good Pub Guide said: "Leeds Brewery pub on two floors in Holbeck Urban Village; their ales and guests kept well, enjoyable home-made food, friendly staff, light contemporary décor mixing with original beams and stripped brickwork; children and dogs welcome, courtyard beer garden."
10. The Flying Duck
The Good Pub Guide said: "Old stone pub with nine well kept beers including own Wharfedale ales brewed in barn behind, tasters offered by friendly knowledgeable staff, shortish choice of enjoyable good value food (lunchtime Tues-Sun) including selection of light dishes (perfect for sharing), beamed and flagstoned bar with woodburner in large stone fireplace; quiz, live music and open mike nights; children and dogs welcome, first-floor terrace."
11. Grove Inn
The Good Pub Guide said: "Unspoilt 1930s-feel local overshadowed by towering office blocks; tables and stools in main bar with marble floor, panelling and original fireplace, large back room and snug off drinking corridor, eight well kept regional ales including Daleside Blonde, Weston’s cider, lunchtime food (not Sat, Sun), friendly."
