The original plan was for the store to open on April 9, bringing 80 new full and part-time jobs to the city.

However, a spokesperson for The Range has said there has been an 'unforeseen delay with the launch of the Kirkstall store' so the opening date will be pushed back.

It is not confirmed when The Range will open now, but it is hoped that it will be by the summer.

The new store will be on the site of the old M&S and Outfit stores, spread over two shop floors.

The Range in Kirkstall will sell a ranging selection of products from Petcare to cleaning supplies.

It will join the likes of Home Bargains and Pets at Home at the Shopping Park.

The store will have extra safety procedures in place to protect both staff and customers, including social distancing floor markers, sanitising stations at the store entrance and contactless payments where possible.

The store's exact address is on Savins Mill Way, LS5 3BL.

A The Range spokesperson said: "Unfortunately there has been an unforeseen delay with the launch of our Kirkstall store so the opening date will be pushed back.

"At present I don’t have details of when this store will be opening but I will let you know as soon as I do.
