MeatisDead in Kirkstall Road has announced that its doors will open on Wednesday, June 16.

The new restaurant owned by couple is owned by Vic Varley and Joe Tarpey.

It will offer plant-based dishes from breakfast in the morning through to drinks and cocktails in the evening.

The focus will be on healthy food such as smoothie bowls, sharing platters and salads.

Joe said: “You don’t have to deep fry something to make it taste nice, we're looking to be a more Mediterranean style of eating with sharing platters and smaller plates of food to encourage a communal style of eating.”

The restaurant is also hiring an experienced chef and bar supervisor, and applications can be made by sending a cover letter and CV to [email protected]

Announcing their official opening date, the couple said: "We’re very excited to announce that our doors will open on Wednesday June 16 - our website now is live and bookings can be taken via the booking page.

"Our menu will be revealed imminently - grab your friends/lovers/kids/dogs/whoever and join us for food, drinks, music and good vibes.

"Thanks for all the messages of support, we’re very grateful and ridiculously excited - we can’t wait to welcome you flocking through the door!"

Bookings can be made on the website.
