North Brewing Co, which has eight venues across Leeds and Yorkshire, has announced that despite being given the government green-light to open again from Saturday it will be taking a staggered and staged approach to reopening.

In a blog post, the North Brewing Co team said that it felt "very strange" but added that they wanted to open in a way that prioritised safety.

Preston in Oakwood, North Bar Social in Otley, and North Bar in Harrogate will all operate as bottle shops with seating available outside, meaning they can pour pints again. Opening hours will be 12pm – 10pm and seven days a week. There will be a queuing system for the outdoor seating, with no bookings available.

Preston will re-open on Wednesday July 8, North Bar Social will re-open on Thursday July 9 and North Bar Harrogate will re-open on Friday July 10.

However, the flagship bars, North Bar in Leeds and the Brewery Tap at North Brewing Co will remain closed.

The statement said: "The support shown to us over the past three months has been truly humbling, and your vouchers, orders via home delivery and championing on social media have kept us going.

"It feels very strange for our first bar to have not unlocked the doors, but we are committed to reopening in a way that prioritises safety and allows us to look after our customers. North Bar is where this all started for us, and we can’t wait to re-open when the time is right.

"We genuinely can’t wait to see you back in the bars. We do the job we do because we are sociable people. Hospitality is about looking after people, and that has always been at the heart of North."

They added that customers have the option to order via an app, and venues will remain cashless until further notice. North Brewing will still be operating pop-up bottle shops and selling mini kegs, cans to go, grazing boxes and Northern Bloc ice cream at all venues.
