It is the first of five stores in the North of England and Scotland where you can find Preloved Kilo, which has saved at least 500 tonnes of clothing from going into landfill in the last four years.

Leeds Middleton Asda is currently a Sustainability Trial Store and is aiming to reduce waste, remove excess packaging and promote greener supermarket alternatives without compromising its prices.

From refillable solutions to a host of recycling initiatives, the firm said it will help customers to reduce, re-use and recycle.

The supermarket has partnered with PG Tips, Vimto, Kellogg’s, Radox and Persil to create the store. Asda estimates the numerous initiatives being trialed in Middleton will save one million pieces of plastic per year.

You can find more information about sustainable clothing on Preloved Kilo’s website, or on the Asda Middleton website.
