Bosses at Roxy Leisure says 2020 had been a curveball but that from Saturday August 1 they will be back in business.

The four venues in Leeds city centre were in a position to reopen like many other bars and pubs this weekend just gone but added that they wanted to get it right first time.

The entrance to all four bars will feature sanitising stations, where visitors will be required to clean their hands before being seated at their pre-booked table. To order and pay for food and drinks, guests then simply scan the QR code on their table and Roxy’s friendly team will bring everything across.

The size of each venue means little has changed as far as layout is concerned and all ball games, from bowling and crazy golf, to pool and table tennis, will return.

Over at Merrion Street, the token operated retro gamers and modern arcade machines are ready to go and the karaoke booths will also return.

All tables and gaming areas, machines and alleys will be thoroughly cleaned after each booking to ensure the safety of all employees and customers. Hand sanitiser will be dotted generously around each venue and disposable gloves will be available on request.

Roxy Brand Development Manager, Joel Mitchell, said: "To say 2020 threw us a curve ball would be an understatement, but in true Roxy style, we’ve accepted the challenge and are bouncing back to our best. We’re thrilled to be reopening on August 1 and have been working hard to ensure our venues are clean and safe, without taking away any of the fun.’

"We could’ve come back on July 4, but we wanted to get it right first time and have our venues and team prepped and ready to smash it. If your summer has felt a little washed out so far, I’m confident a trip to one of our Leeds venues will put a spring back in your step. We’re also excited to be offering booking slots for beer pong for the first time, which regulars have been requesting since we opened. We can’t wait to welcome the people of Yorkshire back.’’
