Gig review: Radio X Road Trip featuring The Courteeners at O2 Academy Leeds

The Manchester band are to play at least 17 sold-out dates before the end of the year and it was no surprise that their latest trip to Leeds hit all the right notes.
As part of the Radio X Road Trip with Chris Moyles, the gig featured an appearance on stage with the Leeds-born DJ before the Courteeners emerged.

In fairness to Moyles, he took it in his stride and it was not long ago before the Courteeners were strutting their stuff.
They opened with Are You in Love With a Notion?, which was followed by the brilliant Cavorting, lapped up adoringly by the 2,500-strong crowd.
“Cav-or-ting, and snor-ting, your way, through the band,” belted out frontman Liam Fray, sending the revellers into a frenzy.

The Courteeners will play a staggering seven dates in Manchester in December, so there are ample opportunities to hop across the Pennines and see them again in the coming weeks.
Actually getting your hands on a ticket might not prove so easy, though.
