The Mancunian actor, who played Adam Barton in the Yorkshire soap, dropped a big hint on Twitter - and fans are ecstatic.

Thomas left the soap in 2018 in a dramatic exit.

His character confessed to the the murder of Emma Barton, despite his mum Moira admitting to killing her.

On his way to court to be sentenced, he broke free from the prison van and escaped to France, after saying an emotional goodbye to his wife Victoria Sugden.

Later in the soap, it was revealed that he had moved to Budapest.

Emmerdale fans are hoping to see the return of the character after Thomas tweeted: "Can't remember the last time I picked up a script... Time to get back."
