From famous features to lesser-known gems, Leeds is no stranger to film crews and cameras. Yorkshire's largest city has featured in a number of major productions and the screen industry has grown in recent years.
Here are 15 films and TV shows filmed in our city, including some which might surprise you:
7. Take Us Home: Leeds United, 2019-2020
The Amazon Prime documentary Take Us Home followed the Whites over two seasons, covering their promotion to top-flight football. It features some famous Leeds figures including Josh Warrington and includes some stunning aerial shots of the city
8. Emmerdale, 1972-present
One of Leeds' greatest TV exports, the long-running soap set in the fictional Yorkshire village of Emmerdale is filmed between the ITV Studios in Kirkstall Road and a purpose-built set in Harewood. Some filming takes place in Leeds and Otley.
9. No Angels, 2004-2006
The Channel 4 comedy-drama series No Angels followed the lives of three nurses and a healthcare assistant from Leeds, showing their lives in and out of the hospital. Filming mainly took place at the disused High Royds Hospital site in Menston. Pictured is Jo Joyner who starred as Beverly
10. The Duke, 2020
The Duke is a 2020 British comedy-drama film starring Helen Mirren, following a 60-year-old taxi driver who stole Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. Filming took place at Hyde Park Picture House.
11. Censor, 2021
Censor, a psychological horror film based in the 1980s, was shot across the Yorkshire region - and the cast were spotted filming in Pudsey. After viewing a strangely familiar video nasty, Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister's disappearance
12. Red Riding, 2009
Red Riding is a thrilling trilogy based on David Peace's cult noir novels about Yorkshire during the 70s and 80s, released on Channel 4 in 2009. It looked at serial murders, including the Yorkshire Ripper, and featured the former Yorkshire Post newsroom. Photo: Matthew Page
