Leeds band Yard Act have announced a five-night residency at Brudenell Social Club.

The Mercury Prize-nominated four-piece released their debut album, titled The Overload, to widespread critical acclaim. They will be performing at iconic Leeds venue Brudenell Social Club for five consecutive nights before they “crack on” with their second LP.

Their residency will adopt a format different to the norm, as comedians will be appearing as special guests. A different comic will perform each night across four nights of the residency and comedy icon Harry Hill has already been announced as one of the special guests. Nish Kumar, Rose Matafeo and Lolly Adefope have also been confirmed as performers. A surprise guest performing their ‘last show before hibernation’ will also be filling a support slot to complete the line-up.

Yard Act frontman James Smith spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post back in 2021 and speaking about the band’s debut album, he said: “We’ve written the album as a singular piece. Lyrically, I push it further than I have done with the character studies, going deeper. And musically, the band have pushed themselves further.”

The residency will take place between May 8 and 12 and tickets go on general sale on the Brudenell Social Club website at 10am on Friday, March 10. Alternatively, fans can register to be given a pre-sale ticket link before pre-sale launches at 10am on Thursday, March 9.
