12 rarely-seen photos take you back to Leeds in the 1990s

This collection of photos takes you back to Leeds 1990s – although the specific year of each image is unknown.

They predominantly focus on the city centre during the decade but can you add a specific date to any of the wonderful photos? The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks. This was formerly Queen Victoria Street and is now a wide arcade of upmarket retail estalishments with the former Cross and County arcades intersecting. 'The Street Cafe' is part of the Harvey Nichols department store which opened in Leeds in 1996.
