The White House, on Wetherby Road, Oakwood, closed yesterday (October 24) as internal work on revamp got under way.

Scaffolding had been in place earlier in the month for external improvements to the Chef & Brewer pub, which is based near the entrance to Roundhay Park on Wetherby Road. It is expected to reopen once the refurbishment is complete next month.

The project includes upgrades to the function room and an extension of the front garden with a new "glass balustrade" being installed to create a "stunning" new garden area, according to pub bosses. The pub is run by general managers Adam Berry and Claire Short.
