Two authors with a deep love for their respective sport clubs, Leeds United and Castleford Tigers, have written a book documenting every single stadium both sides have played in.

Andy Starmore and Dr John Davis have spent their lives following their beloved clubs and have used lockdown lulls to put their experiences and knowledge down on paper.

Andy, an avid follower of Premier League football club Leeds, said: “There’s a lot of history and we’ve done a hell of a lot of research, which is why it has taken two years to write.

"It’s basically from the point of view of fans. There’s a lot of Leeds fans following Castleford and there’s a lot of Castleford fans following Leeds.

"There’s definitely a connection between Leeds and Castleford, supporter-wise.”

It is also packed with anecdotes taking readers through a lifetime of standing on terraces and experiencing the highs and lows of following the club you love.

Dr John, a dedicated supporter of rugby league club Castleford Tigers, said: “I thought, 'I know a lot about Castleford Tigers and Andy knows a lot about Leeds United', and it came to my attention that there wasn't really a book on the market anywhere that does what we've done really.

"When lockdown came, I rang Andy and said we should turn this into a bit of positivity and that is what we have done.

"It was a question of what we can do, rather than what we can’t do.”

The stories explore the humorous side of following your club and also delve into memories of players and moments.

Andy explained: “There's loads of statistics in there. There's also a few poems that John has written, which are quite funny, and there is personal anecdotes from John and myself.”

The foreword has been written by Gary Edwards, a Leeds superfan who in 2018, marked 50 years of attending every single home and away game.

The book is available to buy now on Amazon and is also available as a Kindle eBook.
