Landmarks, shops, well travelled streets and local sport are all featured in this gallery which are sure to evoke memories for a generation of people who called LS11 home back in the day. The images are a mix from the YEP archive and others published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. Stank Hall on Dewsbury Road pictured in 1983. This farmhouse dates back to at least 1609 when it was purchased by Christopher Hodgson, though it is part of a farm that is much older, with a barn built possibly as far back as 1448 (from tree-ring dating). Some elements of an earlier timber-framed building which may date from the same time still survive in the brick walls of the Hall.
