Leeds weather: Wind warning issued for parts of city as Met Office say power loss is 'possible'

A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for parts of Leeds.

The warning, issued by the Met Office, covers a section of the north west of the city. People have been warned delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely. and that there could be bus and trains services affected.

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges have been described as likely, meanwhile the Met Office have also said short-term loss of power and other services is possible.

The Met Office said: “A spell of very windy weather will affect Irish Sea coastal areas, before spreading to parts of northern England and Scotland.”
