Highly anticipated skating facility Planet Ice Leeds has announced the price list for public skating.

The ice rink on Elland Road is due to open this Saturday (February 1) after a turbulent development that began back in 2012.

Now, the rink has announced the price list for their public skating sessions.

Public Ice Skating (off peak) is set to start at £8, with peak sessions starting from £8.50.

A family of three can skate from £22.20, four from £29.60 and five from £37.

Spectators will be charged £2 if not attending patch, private hire or birthday parties.

Skate Hire only is £8.70 and toddlers under 4 will be charged £3.30.

The prices, which can be viewed on the website, do not include a £2.20 charge per person for those without an Ice Card membership.

The Ice Card membership is priced at £10 per year.

Visitors can also get £5 off every Skate & Hockey Excellence course when purchasing the card.

Skate hire can be 'bolted onto public skating sessions at a cost of an additional £2.20 per person as part of a package that includes shoe storage', the website states.

The prices for courses at the arena were released earlier this year.The Planet Ice Leeds website says: “The Skate Excellence learn to skate programme teaches the fundamentals of ice skating.

“It is aimed at beginners of all ages, abilities and different learning styles.

“The learning programme is taught over 8 grades and the skating skills in each grade are broken down into small segments called competencies and together they form the framework of this fun progressive learn to skate programme.

“Each skating course also includes a free skating session on the day of your lesson.”

Six-week courses, available from 15 February, from £51 per person

18-week courses, available from 16 February, from £161 per person.

Planet Ice Leeds will also be offering three and five day learn to skate courses which fit six weeks of skating lessons into 30 minutes of coaching over consecutive days.

The first of these available is a five day course which will run from February 17 and is priced from £51 per person.

For those more confident on the ice there are skate and hockey excellence programmes on offer as well as options for smaller group learning.
