“At 2.22pm today, police were called to A61, Cross Green following reports of an assault.
“Officers attended and found a man had been assaulted. He had been sprayed in the leg with an unknown substance.
“The man was taken to hospital within juries not believed to be life threatening.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Emergency services are currently attending an incident in the Cross Green area of Leeds.
Police, ambulance and fire engines are at the scene on A61 East Street, near to the Leeds Dock area of the city centre.

Missing pensioner:
Police have launched an urgent search to find a missing Leeds pensioner.
Philip Sunderland, 84, is missing from Bramhope.
He is wearing a cream/beige coloured trench coat, cream trousers, brown shoes and a flat cap.
Philip walks around local areas and also Otley and Skipton, police said.
There are now concerns for his welfare.
West Yorkshire Police said: "Any info or sightings, call 101 / 999, quote log ref: 1809 07/06."

Over-25s in England are to be offered a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine six months after the first jab was administered in the UK – as ministers continue to weigh up whether remaining lockdown restrictions will be lifted on June 21.
