Leeds schoolchildren support Christmas toy appeal
The Yorkshire Evening Post-backed Radio Aire Mission Christmas appeal invites people to buy one extra gift to help thousands of disadvantaged children across the county.
Children from Rawdon St Peters Primary School brought presents for the appeal and dropped them of at Radio Aire’s Mission Christmas HQ at The Store Room in Millshaw.

Hide AdThey also donated cash raised during a Christmas jumper day at the school.
Rawdon St Peters teacher Teacher Alison Emsley, said: “We support Mission Christmas because we can’t imagine what it must be like to wake up without a present on Christmas morning.
“We know that we are all very lucky and want to help children that are less fortunate than us.
“We are so proud to help Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids and they do such an amazing job helping all the children for Mission Christmas.”

Hide AdRadio Aire charity manager Lisa Sullivan, said: “It’s wonderful to have the school’s support every year for Mission Christmas.
“There is no stronger message than children helping other children.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all the students, parents and staff at Rawdon St Peters and we would like to wish them all a Merry Christmas.”
Last week appeal organisers said they were running out of toys and issued an urgent appeal to the public for more donations.

Hide AdThe deadline is fast approaching for donations for the Radio Aire Mission Christmas toy appeal.
Tuesday (Dec 18) is the last day people can drop gifts off at any B&M, Wickes, Bensons for Beds and Tesco in West Yorkshire.
Hytal Kitchens in Morley are also taking part along with and many of the stores at Crown Point Shopping Park in Leeds.
Gifts can also be taken to The Store Room, Millshaw, Leeds LS11 8EG.
