Yorkshire Amateur: Double joy for Farsley Celtic but Rodillian drop down
The side have completed a league and cup double after lifting the Marflitt Trophy last month.
Farsley celebrated in style, winning their penultimate league game at the weekend as they crushed Farnley Sports 7-0.

Hide AdLeading marksman and golden boot winner Danny Lyons opened the scoring early in the first half as Farsley cruised to victory. Sam Bradley put the hosts 2-0 in front at half-time, while Louis Surtees netted a hat-trick, Lyons added his second and Jordan Grimes bagged the seventh.
At the other end of the table, Rodillian were relegated after a 6-1 home defeat to Alwoodley. Dan Whincup opened the scoring for Alwoodley before defensive errors allowed Callum Armstrong to score a brace. Tom Rawson, James Turner and Owen Smith were all on target for Alwoodley.
Rodillian’s relegation means that Wigton Moor are safe after a 7-0 win against Stanningley. A double for Leroy Watson meant Wigton led 2-0 at the interval before Chris Lone, Mark Beattie and Saeed Osman all got on the scoresheet.
In a game of little importance, fourth-placed Leeds Medics and Dentists overcame Grangefield 2-1. Kieran Wardman pounced to give Medics the lead after Luke Hunter had rattled the crossbar for Grangefield earlier in the half.

Hide AdMatty Lloyd added Medics’ second 10 minutes from time with James Kitson’s late goal for Grangefield merely a consolation.
In the Championship, champions St Nicholas’ title party was spoilt after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Leeds Medics and Dentists Reserves.
Their 5-1 victory away at Thornesians in midweek, along with Beeston Juniors’ 2-1 defeat against Stanningley had already secured St Nicholas’ spot at the summit.
Elsewhere, Alwoodley Reserves and Stanningley Reserves shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Goals for Stanningley came from Shane Collins, Matt Gerraghty and Jake Dalley. Kamil Piekara scored a brace for Alwoodley, while Jamie Ball was also on target.

Hide AdIn Division One, Drighlington’s far superior goal difference means that their 6-1 win at home to Grangefield Reserves has sealed the title.
Meanwhile, Leeds Medics III were defeated 3-1 by Dewsbury Rangers. A brace for Jack Smith and a strike from Michael Thompson helped Dewsbury to victory. Garforth Rangers played their final game of the season as they were beaten 2-1 by third from bottom St Bedes.
