United approached the contest knowing that a victory would send them three points clear in first place and establish a six-point cushion in the automatic promotion places with just three games left.
Pablo Hernandez's 89th-minute winner ensured Leeds did just that and the YEP's chief football writer Graham Smyth hands out the scores.
1. Illan Meslier
8 - Distribution wasn't as pinpoint as it can be, but under pressure at set-pieces he was excellent. Got a fist to the ball when it was needed, through a crowd, on a number of occasions. Made one impressive save too.
2. Luke Ayling
7 - Struggled to find men in the first half, gave the ball away uncharacteristically. Got forward more in the second half. Dug out an assist late on. Persistent.
3. Liam Cooper
7 - Dominant in the air, unable to keep Ayew completely quiet but marshalled him and read attacks
4. Ben White
7 - Classy on the ball. The direct ball wasn't always accurate but he was aerially strong and made the usual interceptions. Ran it well when the chance arose.
5. Stuart Dallas
6 - Couldn't get into the game. Had the difficult task of playing centre mid out of possession and left-back on it and struggled to make an impact offensively.
6. Kalvin Phillips
7 - Strong when he had to be, more of a force second half, kept pushing Leeds forward but covered well to stop Swansea exploiting the visitors on the break.
