TV's a family affair for mum and daughter actresses
Mum-of-three Tonicha is set to reprise her role as Steph Sims in Casualty on Saturday night - returning after a series of episodes last year which culminated in her running show favourite Connie Beauchamp to drive off a cliff in a car crash.
And from Monday, 14-year-old daughter Sydney Wade will be entertaining a younger audience as Emilia in CBBC’s new series of Wolfblood.

Hide AdIt will be Sydney’s second series in the fantasy teen drama and adds to an impressive CV of work including acting alongside Jude Law in film 360, Benedict Cumberbatch in a Sherlock episode and Matt Smith in Doctor Who. The pair, from Wetherby, also acted together in Casualty last year, with Sydney playing Tonicha’s character’s daughter.
Sydney, who has been acting since she was four, told the YEP: “I wouldn’t be doing anything else. It’s amazing. I get to meet people and make friends along the way. It’s the best thing ever.”
Tonicha, a former Emmerdale actress, said Saturday’s Casualty promises to be a “juicy episode”. “It’s the one everyone’s been waiting for since the crash - a big showdown between the two women.”
Casualty is on BBC One this Saturday at 8.25pm. Wolfblood starts on CBBC on Monday at 4.30pm.
