The multi-million pound Connecting Leeds scheme aims to turn Leeds into an environmentally sustainable city where in years to come residents will not require the need for a car. One of the largest alterations has been to the City Square space near Leeds station, which is still set to officially complete this year.

5. New Morley Rail Station
Due to fully open this summer, the new, remodelled Morley station will sit 75 metres away from the existing one and be fully accessible, with a footbridge and lifts connecting the two platforms. The new station will boast longer platforms to provide space for faster, more frequent and greener trains with more seats available. Photo: Network Rail
6. New Leeds Central Station
While not due to fully complete till 2025, the £46.1 million work to significantly improve the main entrance and surrounding areas of Leeds station is well underway. This has seen the station's taxi rank moved to Princes Square with New Station Street now closed to all traffic. Photo: LCC
