One dead and one fighting for life after car hits tree in Drighlington crash

A 26-year-old man died at the scene on Whitehall Road at around 9pm to which the Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent seven vehicles.
The driver of the car has suffered serious injuries and is being treated in hospital.

Hide AdTwo other passengers were taken to hospital with injuries which are not life threatening after the silver Nissan Navara hit the tree.
Ambulance service vehicles included two rapid response vehicles, four ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response team.
Police officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the crash or the car beforehand, including those who were heading towards Bradford on the A650 and anyone who has dashcam footage of the crash.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A650 Drighlington by pass, Leeds.

"A silver Nissan Navara collided with a tree.
"A passenger a 26 year old man sadly died at the scene. The driver has suffered serious injuries and is being treated in hospital. Two other passengers were taken to hospital with injuries which are non life threatening
"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the silver Nissan Nivara before the collision to come forward.
"We understand there were vehicles travelling in the opposite direction on the A650 just before the collision (heading towards Bradford,) we are keen to speak to those drivers also.

A spokesperson from Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call just before 9pm on Tuesday evening to reports of a car in collision with a tree on Whitehall Road in Drighlington.
"We dispatched two rapid response vehicles, four ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene.
"Four patients were conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary."
