Man on fire in Beeston: Man fights for his life in hospital as police enquiries continue

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported this morning that two fire crews joined ambulance and police staff after reports that a man was on fire on Bismarck Street in Beeston at 7.40am.
Police have now provided more information, saying that the man suffered serious burn injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Hide AdA spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “A scene is in place in Bismarck Street and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“While enquiries remain at an early stage, there is not believed to have been anyone else involved.”
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 7.40am this morning to reports of a person on fire in Bismarck Street, Beeston, Leeds.
"Two ambulances and two critical care paramedics were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to hospital.”
