Man charged after spate of burglaries and vehicle crime in East Ardsley and Robin Hood in Leeds

After concerns were raised by residents in East Ardsley and Robin Hood, the South Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) issued a statement on Facebook.
Officers revealed there had been eight burglaries recorded in the ward in January, as well as two thefts from motor vehicles and two incidents of arson.

Hide AdAlthough crime rates in the ward are low, the NPT said, officers are aware of a recent spate of burglaries and vehicle crime.
One man has been arrested and charged for crimes committed in the area.
Inspector Lucy Leadbetter, of the South Leeds NPT, said: "I have recently been made aware of concerns from local residents regarding crime in the East Ardsley ward area.
"As you can see from this crime data East Ardsley remains a safe place, however, we are aware of a recent spate of burglaries and vehicle crime in the area and can update residents that one male has been arrested and charged for offences in this area."

Hide AdInspector Leadbetter said there had been a small increase in the number of arson offences committed in the last two months.
She added: "We are continuing to investigate these and would encourage residents with any information to contact us.
"I would like to reassure the residents of East Ardsley that we continue to work very hard in the area to keep residents safe and feeling safe."
