Cross Flatts Crescent stand off: Armed police called to Beeston street as man barricades himself inside flat

Police were called to a disturbance at a flat in Cross Flatts Crescent, Beeston, shortly before 9am.
On arrival, officers were threatened and called for back up from armed police.

Hide AdA man barricaded himself inside the flat, police said, and a two-hour stand off followed.
The man was arrested at 11am.
No officers were injured during the incident, but damage was caused to property.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to a disturbance at a flat in Cross Flatts Crescent, shortly before 9am.
"On arrival, officers were met with threatening behaviour from the occupant who then barricaded himself inside the flat.

Hide Ad"As a result, further officers and negotiators were called in order to try and resolve the situation.
"The single male occupant was detained at 11am. No one was injured, but damage was caused to property."
