There really is nothing better than an ice cold gin and tonic while the sun is shining if you're in the mood for an alcoholic tipple. We've picked out some of the best gin haunts in Leeds as part of this handy guide:
1. Tailors Gin
Bespoke tailors by day and a speakeasy by night, Tailors gin is a hub of 1920s glitter and glam that prides itself on its spirit offerings. Stocking over 50 gins and a wider selection of rums and other spirits, Grand Arcade is not short for a G&T and a cocktail with Tailors Gin in its vicinity. (photo: Bruce Rollinson)
2. The Botanist
The Botanist in Boar Lane in Leeds city centre has an exquisite array of gins on offer, with a number of citrus, herbaceous and fruit and floral flavours on the menu. There's even six different gin cocktails to choose from at the bar, including a 'Pink Poppy Punch'. One of the bartenders recommends the hospitality gin with black peppercorns and orange zest.
3. Bill's
It's not just gin, and it's not just pink, it's a full tower of pink gin fizz at Bill's bar and restaurant. There's others to choose from too but this pink one will be hard to resist.
4. Nelson’s Distillery and School
This UK gin specialist is making its splash in Leeds with the launch of a new gin school which will see participants creating their own gin available to order again and again. The school offers an insight into the secrets of gin making and allows individuals to create their own unique blend to take home. Classes at the Hilton Leeds City Hotel will be held every Friday from 4pm to 8pm and on Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm. Bookings can be made through the Nelson's website. (photo: Simon Hulme)
5. Lazy Lounge
This independent bar is tucked away just beyond where most other city centre bars live. It's an establishment for fine wine, gin and whisky in Leeds. It's gin menu comprises of three whole pages of gin listings and it even offers a gin and afternoon tea package. (photo: Jonathan Gawthorpe)
6. Wapentake
It's not just gin at Wapentake, it's Yorkshire gin. From the traditional to the flavoured, the restaurant uses Forged in Wakefield Gin as its house pour. It's dog-friendly there too!
