Casa Mia, at Chapel Allerton, has introduced 'Home Delivery', and says the idea is people can order in large quantities, to freeze or feed families, to try and ease the stress of worrying if they will be able to get the food they want. It comes amid scenes over the last week and more of empty shelves and early morning queues of hundreds of shoppers waiting for supermarket doors to open.
It has been owned and operated by the Mazzella-family for more than 20 years and the restaurant produces pastas, soups, sauces, cakes and desserts which, now the restaurant has been forced to temporarily close, can be dropped off at the doorstep.

Our customers are our family and during a difficult time like this it’s important to look after your family. Which is why we introduced Home Delivery. We want to make our family and our community feel at ease during this stressful time, and ensuring they have plenty of food and essential goods is the perfect way to do so.”
Casa Mia’s team of chefs are taking precautions as advised by public health authorities and medical professionals to make sure meals are produced and delivered in a safe manner and staff are regularly monitored for symptoms. Each delivery contains a staff self-certification and orders, payments and deliveries will be contact-free.
Mr Mazzella said: "We’ve got to carry on, to support our families, our staff and our customers. We’ve been here for 22 years and we’ve survived two recessions so we are prepared for the worst. It’s a difficult time for everyone but we’ve got to get together, we’ve got to support our small businesses, and we have to understand and respect each other. But most importantly we have to make it work.”
In addition to home delivery Casa Mia is also able to send essential groceries such as bread, milk and butter with deliveries.
