3. Rhythms of the City
Launched in the 1990s this colourful summer arts city centre festival was enjoyed by thousands of people. Scrapped in 2004 when council chiefs claimed it didn't offer best value for money and ruled it should be scrapped. Photo: YPN
4. Classical Fantasia

6. Party in the Park
It was the annual free pop party that everyone was invited to. Started in 1994 it played host to a galaxy of chart-topping artists at Temple Newsam. The music stopped in 2014. Photo: YPN
