Leeds Council key workers abused and sworn at while doing their 'vital' job

Leeds Council said some officers and contractors received verbal abuse yesterday when they were working to keep vital services available in the city.
They were sworn at while doing their job and following social distancing rules.

Hide AdLeeds is in lockdown after the Government introduced restrictions on movement, but key workers are still able to travel and continue their jobs.
Leeds Council tweeted this morning: "Sadly, some of our officers and contractors received verbal abuse yesterday whilst carrying out essential work.
"These key workers were working hard to keep vital services and support available, whilst following rules around social distancing to stay safe and help protect the NHS.
"Please do not swear at or abuse our teams. Any abuse will not be tolerated.
"We will continue to review our workplace policies to reflect Government guidance."
