There are family-friendly activities taking place every day in and around Leeds. You just have to know where to find them. Here’s a few to keep you going:
Screentime: If you’re a mum who loves films, “bring your own baby” screenings give you the chance to get to the cinema without leaving the little one at home. If your tot is less than one year old get down to Hyde Park Picture House on Wednesday at 11am to see Oscar-winner Still Alice. Book tickets at hydeparkpicturehouse.co.uk.
Showtime: Inquisitive youngsters aged 11 and over are invited to judge a nail-biting Science Slam at The Carriageworks, Leeds, on March 18 at 7.30pm. Young scientists will take the audience by storm armed with nothing but their knowledge and creativity. You decide who should be crowned Slam Champion. Tickets from £4.
Storytime: Families are invited to step into the wonderful world of books this Easter and meet characters, storytellers, illustrators and authors at Eureka! in Halifax. From March 28 to April 19, as part of its mini literature festival, visitors will be able to Tell a Tale Together in interactive story-making sessions. And from April 10 to 13 the children’s museum will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice in Wonderland with Storymagic Theatre, who’ll be running their unique family shows.
Sessions can be booked on the day and are free with standard admission or your Eureka! annual pass. For visitor information call 01422 330069, visit www.eureka.org.uk.
