Main story. A fifth of all NHS dentists in Leeds say they are to quit the health service on April 1. Of the 138 dentists, 30 have indicated they will no longer be offering NHS treatment when a new government contract comes into force at the start of next month. Thousands of patients face the increasingly difficult task of finding a dentist willing to take on new NHS patients. Health chiefs in Leeds admit they are relying on people having just one check up in the year to buy them time to set up new services.
