Dateline: July 1997: Leeds actor Adam Shaw landed his first acting job… in Steven Spielberg film, Saving Private Ryan, which was being shot in Ireland at the time.
Adam, 25, of Pudsey, had just returned from the set when he spoke to the YEP: “I met my agent for the first time in the morning and she had found me my first job in a Hollywood film bny the afternoon, said Adam, a former pupil of Fulneck. “It was pretty scary. I mean, it’s not every day you get the opportunity to appear in a Steven Spielberg film. I sat in a coffee shop for three hours and read the script, it was hard to calm down.”
He added: “[Spielberg] is very quick and efficient and knows what he wants. He is very hands on and can change his mind in a matter of second. It’s a case of keeping your eyes open and your mouth shut.”
