An Emmerdale star swapped wellies for pink stilettos at the launch of a charity race with a difference.
James Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle in the soap, was launching the Leeds High-Heel-a-Thon.
For the third year running, participants will step into skyscraper heels for a one-mile dash around the city centre on September 25. Runners have to start and finish in their heels, but can swap them for more sensible shoes in between.
This year’s event will raise money for breast cancer centre The Haven and hospice charity Sue Ryder.
Tom Robertshaw, fundraiser at The Haven, said: “We are excited to be on board for the third High Heel-a-thon and urge everyone in Leeds to slip on their heels for a fundraising event that the whole family, even the dog, not to mention teams of friends and work colleagues can take part in.”
Kate Hallett, fundraiser at Sue Ryder, said: “We hope to recruit 500 entrants this year and would love each high heeler to try and raise £100 for charity.” Entry is £15 (£10 cons).
