The YEP is throwing its support behind the Lord Mayor of Leeds’s ‘Just One Day’ fundraising push for the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal.

The Lord Mayor, Coun David Congreve, is calling on people across the city to give their time for just one day, on Friday April 24, to raise money for his chosen charity.

Lord Mayor of Leeds and Jeremy Clifford mark the YEP's support to Just One Day.

Here at YPN Towers we have pledged to get busy baking up some tasty treats ready for a mass cake sale on the day in aid of the worthy cause.

Schools, businesses and individuals across the city are being urged to follow suit - whether through a simple collection, or sponsored event, or a cake sale - and help the Lord Mayor’s Appeal fund new equipment and brighten the wards and family rooms at Leeds Children’s Hospital.

YEP editorial director Jeremy Clifford said: “We are delighted to be backing the Just One Day appeal as the media partner.

“The Yorkshire Evening Post will be doing its bit by encouraging a mass cake making day with staff to raise money.

“We need the whole of Leeds to mobilise on one day behind such a great initiative to make sure it is a success for future years.

Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun David Congreve, said: “I think what the YEP is doing is brilliant.

“It would be great if other companies get behind Just One Day as well because the Leeds Children’s Hospital is a very, very worthwhile cause.”
