DINERS at an Indian restaurant in west Leeds tucked into a curry to raise cash for Marie Curie.

The ‘Curry for Curie’ evening at Deeva Restaurant in Farsley included live music and raised over £5,000 for the charity.

Hannah Saxon, community fundraiser, said: “The £5,000 raised will allow Marie Curie nurses to provide more hours of free nursing care to people with terminal illnesses in the West Yorkshire area.”

Zulfi Hussain, co-owner of the restaurant, said: “We would like to thank all our supporters [...] for such a fantastic fundraising evening.”
