The final fundraising total from the Bramham Park Fun Run has been announced.

Over 700 runners who took part in the charity event last October raised a staggering £15,539.55 for Cancer Research UK.

The money raised will help projects like the Leeds Cancer Research UK Centre at St James’ Hospital.

Professor Alan Melcher, who works at the centre, said: “We are involved in some very exciting projects, looking at how we can wake up a patient’s immune system to better attack their cancer.”

He added: “None of this would be possible without public funding.”
