Yorkshire Amateur - Norristhorpe nosing towards title after victory retains advantage

Leaders Norristhorpe Rangers edged a step closer to the Division 3 title with a 2-0 win on Saturday at mid-table Stanningley OB Reserves.

Rangers led at the interval and doubled their tally after the break thanks to goals from Thomas Boocock and Brad Wild. Stanningley were also beaten 7-3 on Monday night by Lower Hopton, who had crashed 8-1 at home to Morley Town U21s on Saturday.

Second-placed North Huddersfield saw off Garforth Rangers 4-1 but remain nine points off the pacesetters. Elsewhere, Middleton Park U23s defeated Colton Athletic Res 2-1, Shire Academics III saw off Ealandians III 3-0 and Woodkirk Valley Res drew four apiece with Savile United.

The top three in the Supreme division all won while things are looking grim for Driglington at the foot of the table following a 4-2 defeat at Route One Rovers.

Leaders Horsforth SM overran Littletown 8-2, second-placed Farsley Celtic Juniors defeated Lower Hopton 2-0, the same result achieved by third-placed Wortley over visiting Alwoodley.

Athletico drew two apiece with Leeds M&D while Leeds City played out a 1-1 draw with Ryburn United.

Premier leaders Middleton thumped St Bedes 8-0, in-form Nostell MW defeated Morley Town 4-1, White Rose drew 2-2 with Golcar and Collegians held the nap hand over Wibsey with a 5-1 victory.
