A Leeds naturist group is holding naked yoga sessions
Naked yoga is coming to Leeds.
The trend which has taken America by storm has arrived in the UK and has now been made a regular event by a naturist group in Leeds.
The Leeds Naturist Group (LNG) has already been running since 1985 and holds regular get-togethers at Bramley Baths.
The group are now hosting their own Bikram Yoga sessions at The Hot Room at The Core in Leeds city centre, aimed at promoting body confidence and self-acceptance.
Bikram Yoga is a form of yoga held in 40 degree temperatures, with the heat supposedly warming and loosening the muscles to increase flexibility.
A member of LNG said: "For some this was their first time being nude in a social setting.
"LNG prides itself on being a friendly bunch, but to the folk from The Hot Room completely unused to such a naked situation, this was a revelation.
"No one [gave] a hoot about what you looked like, what they looked like, who you are or what you do. Just straight up acceptance.
"Several even remarked at the time how refreshing that felt."
The Hot Room member Alice, said: “I have struggled with accepting and loving my body in the past. When the studio offered a Naturist class I was excited to try it! It was liberating and so refreshing to be around such friendly people.
"I feel like it was an important step in my journey of self-love and something I would recommend to other people.”
LNG have decided to make it a regular addition to the calendar with classes booked every other month for the next year.
