Christmas came early for members of a dementia support group as they enjoyed a festive sing-a-along.
West Yorkshire Playhouse staged its first ever dementia friendly performance, with a specially adapted showing of the latest production, White Christmas.
Changes were made to the sound and lighting and a flexible seating plan was in place as well as a quiet room to help audience members feel as comfortable as possible.
Before the show, members of Leeds City Council’s Peer Support Service also had singing lessons with the playhouse so they could join in with the songs.
Coun Adam Ogilvie, Leeds City Council’s executive member for adult social care, said: “This was a wonderful experience for those who attended.”
