GIRLS ALOUD star Sarah Harding today booked a Leeds date for her stage debut in a musical based on the classic movie, Ghost.
The star will take Demi Moore’s role as a woman protected from beyond the grave by her murdered boyfriend - to be played in Leeds by Hollyoaks actor Andy Moss.
Harding, who scored 20 top ten hits with Girls Aloud, has acted on screen in Freefall, Run For Your Wife and Coronation Street. She said the 1990 film was one of her all-time favourites, and added: “I can’t wait to get started.”
The show is being staged by veteran impresario and one-time Coronation Street star Bill Kenwright.
It will play at the Grand Theatre in Leeds from November 14-18.
The new production, with an expanded book and new staging, follows a successful run in Leeds and across the UK three years ago.
Mr Kenwright said; “Ghost is a story full of hope, and is one of those films which never leaves you. The book by Bruce Joel Rubin and score by Dave Stewart and Glenn Ballad come together wonderfully in one of my favourite new musicals in years.”
The original hit movie also starred the late Patrick Swayze, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg.
