Fat Friends The Musical, based on the TV show of the same name by Leeds writer Kay Mellor, officially opens at the Grand Theatre on November 7.

And yesterday, the star-studded cast – including Flintoff, Sam Bailey, Natasha Hamilton, Neil Hurst and Ms Mellor herself – assembled outside a fish and chip shop in Headingley.

They appeared at The Fisherman’s Wife, on Weetwood Lane, after arriving in the city this week.

The musical is set in Headingley and a fish and chip shop is central to the plot.

It runs from Tuesday, November 7 until Saturday, December 6 at Leeds Grand Theatre.
