71 Harrogate Road, Yeadon, Leeds

Murgatroyds is so well established and so good at what it does that it's a landmark. That says something. It is one of the handful of fish n' chip restaurants in our county which has managed to transcend the genre of the corner shop Friday night frier and create a whole new dining experience. Yes, you can still get a very ample portion of fish n' chips to take away but you can also dine in, with all the trappings that come with it. The restaurant is named after Billy Murgatroyd, owner of Moorside Mill, which stood on the site of the present building and helped put Yeadon on the map in the 1870s.
