As trends, popularity and interests change, so does the night time economy. Here, we take a look back at some of the establishments that closed their doors this year, as we look forward to plenty of new openings in 2019...

53 Degrees North and Riccis Tapas and Cicchetti on Infirmary Street, ceased operating in the early part of 2018
Much-loved wine bar, restaurant and deli Ham & Friends in the Grand Arcade, off Merrion Street, ceased trading back in March
This bar outside the The Electric Press claimed to be Leeds' first champagne bar - and closed its doors in August, although it didn't become clear it wouldn't re-open until later in the year.

    Popular Spanish bar and restaurant Pintura, in Trinity Leeds, closed its doors for one final time in October.
    Bar Soba on Merrion Street, which had been open since 2015,closed in March, before re-opening on Greek Street a month later.
    Cau restaurant in Victoria Gate closed its doors following the collapse of the Gaucho chain in July.
    This craft ale establishment was based in Thorntons Arcade, but closed for business in April
    Marco Pierre White, originally from Leeds, opened a Marcos New York Italian at The Merrion Centre in April last year. However, it closed in late August due to 'contractual renegotiations'
    Sixteen jobs were lost in October when Trinity Leeds based Mexican restaurant Cielo Blanco announced it was closing after its parent company went into administration.
    Tiger Tiger in Albion Street in the city centre closed for the final time in September
    Mint nightclub announced it would be closing back in September after being unable to renew it's lease. It is expected to formally close early in 2019.
