YOUNG West Yorkshire singer songwriter Jess Thristan has scored immediate success with her first EP, Side By Side.
Within a week of its release, she found herself nestling between Ed Sheeran and Jake Bugg in the top 10 of the iTunes singer songwriter chart.
Having decided to take a gap year after completing her A-levels, the Halifax teenager’s decision to centrate on her music has paid dividends.
An early supporter has been Clare Balding, who has played her songs on her BBC Radio 2 show.
She has also signed a worldwide publishing deal and has been working in London with a major producer whose previous clients include Kylie Minogue, Nicole Sherzinger and Example.
On Saturday, June 28 she plays at Routes Festival at the Orange Box in Halifax.
